"The raindrops, so many raindrops..."

Holy cats and dogs, Batman! Jeez, have we gotten more than our share of rain in the past several days... about 4.5 - 5 inches. I swear, you can see the corn growing at least a foot a day!

Washington, DC has had about 7 inches in the last two days and many homes in the surrounding areas are fighting flooding conditions. The ground is just saturated. Falling trees and flooding have caused numerous power outages and an over 100 year-old tree fell on the White House grounds yesterday. It's just a mess.

The Monocacy is rising and expected to reach flood levels tomorrow night. Not an altogether unusual occurrence around here, but somewhat disconcerting since more rain is forecast for the next several days. Fortunately, we've remained dry, but since we had a couple of downpours earlier today and it's pouring again as I type, who knows?

Ah, well... it's good for the grass.

We have also had a large amount of rain. It looks like it could pour here any minute now. Parts of our state had some major flooding several weeks back.

take care,
Dawn
