Ready or not...
Phew! Been nothing but busy, busy, busy since returning from our Thanksgiving visit, which I might add, was wonderful! It was great company, wonderful food, and lots of fun.
My brother makes a to-die-for candied yams dish, and true to form, turned out another fantastic version this year. Their newly-tried brined turkey was juicy and scrumptious and we all fed our faces to excess. Later that evening, they had friends in and we pigged out some more on five(!) different desserts, including a yummy chocolate bundt cake my sis-n-law made.
Then, on Friday evening we went to one of their friend's for a house-warming party, and boy what a good time! Met another group of great people, who knew how to party hearty! I don't get up and boogie much anymore - an O2 tank has a way of limiting one's moves on the dance floor - but I managed to get my groove going with a little boogie-oogie chair dancing. And a good time was had by all.
Christmas, however, is fast approaching and will be here whether we're ready for it or not, so I've spent this past week shopping... and shopping... and then shopping some more! The Internet is a wonderful thing, and short of going somewhat blind from clicking all over the place, looking for discount codes and the best prices, I'm almost finished. Now just have to anxiously wait and hope it all gets here in time to get wrapped and shipped. These are the times I wish all the kids lived next door. Wellll - maybe a couple of blocks away. ;)
Lew has done a wonderful job of getting the outside decorations up and it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here in our little corner of the world.
