It's time for another Mind Hump. Today is Microwave Oven Day!

1. How old is your microwave oven?
we have two - one in the kitchen, about 4 - 5 years old and one, a couple years old, in the laundry room, next to the family room, where hubby & I usually eat.

2. How many times in a day do you use your microwave oven, and what do you usually use it for?
the kitchen MW gets used the most, at least 3 -6 times a day for heating coffee, thawing things, reheating meals, preparing some foods - usually veggies, melting butter, etc. the downstairs MW gets used a couple, three times a day for reheating whatever we're eating or coffee.

3. What's your favorite microwavable treat?
buttered popcorn! oooo, ooo - also thawing and heating my spicy bean salsa - delicious with Frito scoops.

4. Ever had a microwave disaster? Tell us about it!
well, not really a disaster, but a bit of a mishap. we had a basket we used (note the past tense) to serve breads, biscuits, etc. one time, I decided to heat up some rolls before serving. unbeknownst to us, the damn thing was made out of some kind of synthetic fiber wrapped around wire(!) so needless to say, sparks flew, the stupid thing ignited, and scared the snot out of me! The MW survived, but the basket was toast... pardon the pun. :)
