Way out of line...

I just wanted to say "Bryant Gumbel is a jerk - always has been, always will be."

Why anyone thinks he knows anything about sports is beyond me. According to him, he won't be watching the Olympics because of a "paucity" (now there's a 50-cent word!) of black atheletes! Can you imagine if a white sportscaster said that about white atheletes in the NBA or NFL, sports totally dominated by the black athelete? Can you imagine the uproar? Oh - my - God!!

Blatant racism is alive and well in Bryant Gumbel! The man was totally out of line and should be publicly called on it and/or fired. Just like Howard Cosell, Jimmy "the Greek", and Al Campanis were when they made stupid, racist comments. Maybe he should be out there encouraging young black atheletes to compete in the Olympics - with other atheletes - instead of whining about their absence.

The man's a jerk!
