The treeman cometh...

The willow oak and maple have been competing for air space for years, but have learned to co-exist and are doing well. The pin oak on the other side of the driveway, smaller because it was planted later, is also healthy. My baby, my pride and joy, the back yard oak, may be in trouble. Not oak wilt, but some kind of stress, perhaps the roots.
So sayeth the treeman. While it looks good and healthy, after crawling in and around its branches, It doesn't "feel" right to him... not as pliant and resilient as it should be. Sooooo, he gave it a major feeding treatment... two circles of 70 (!) spikes of fertilizer around the dripline. That should give it a bit of a jolt.
Now it's a wait and watch game... with my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed. We cannot lose this tree!
