Putting things in perspective -

So I had a blurb all typed out earlier about how we're having to replace our whole AC system and a mini-vent about the unexpected expense, blah, blah, blah. As I was typing, the evening news came on and was reporting on how 55,000(!) customers in DC were still without power after a thunderstorm 3 days ago. Three days! In this suffocating heat!!

Needless to say, I was struck silent as another one of those "quit your bitchin', it could be worse" situations was brought home to me. Pepco is working in 16 hour shifts to fix the problems - I'm sure not fast enough for those suffering through it all. My thoughts are with our neighbors in DC - it's positively miserable out there and I feel for them.
