Joining the 21st centrury...

Oh lordy, I am in such trouble! As if I didn't have enough problems keeping up with mine and other blogs, I've gone and done something else equally as time-consuming and addicting. Under much pressure (aka NAGGING!) from family and friends, I caved and crossed over to the dark side... I joined Facebook!

I can already see that my days, nights and life will no longer be mine. In less than 15 hrs or so, I've already been contacted or initiated contact with umpteen people! Family, real-life friends, blogger friends, international friends - they're everyewhere!! Well, actually they're not... they're all on Facebook!!

Now if I can just figure out what I'm doing! Stay tuned... this is going to get interesting.

Wow...

O.J. sentenced to 16-21 years, with a minimum of 6 yrs before he's eligible for parole. (edited: or 33 and 9 yrs minimum, depending on the source)

You know, when you look at all the tragedy and drama the guy has created, it's really kind of sad. He had such great opportunities for a successful life and so totally blew it with his arrogant ignorance.

Karma really is a bitch...

Telling it like it is...

Seems the former druggie/crook Mayor (now Councilman) of DC has managed yet once again to monopolize the news in our parts with another "lookit me" incident.

One of Marion Barry's staff sent out an email to several dozen reporters to tout his (Barrry's) latest vote on a local controversial hospital issue. One of those reporters happened to be the classical music critic(!) for the Washington Post. The guy doesn't even cover politics, let alone Marion Barry!

So, the reporter fired back the following email:

"Must we hear about it every time this crack addict attempts to rehabilitate himself with some new--and typically half witted--political grandstanding?

I'd be grateful if you would take me off your mailing list. I cannot think of anything the useless Marion Barry could do that would interest me in the slightest, up to and including overdose.

Sincerely, Tim Page."

Heh, heh, heh - sounds about right to me! Guess the truth hurts or the shoe fits or something cuz now Barry is all uppity about it all, calling it a racial hate thing, and demanding that the man be fired! Ha!

The Post has taken disciplinary action against Mr. Page and he has been placed on leave.
Too bad. He oughta be given some kind of truth in journalism award. He just wrote what most law-abiding citizens of the area think...

Darn!!

What a lost opportunity! Would've been a great subject for my photo of the day! The man himself, Mr. POTUS (aka the President of the United States,) was in our neck of the woods yesterday. He was attending the 26th Annual National Fallen Firefighters memorial service at the Fallen Firefighter Memorial, which is on the campus of The National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg. All of which is right up the road apiece.

'Course getting anywhere near him would've been a trick in itself... even the air space was restricted (and violated, I heard) while he was there, but it would've been fun trying. *sigh* I really must follow the news more closely - I didn't even know it was happening.

Darn!
