Hell hath done the proverbial...
Lew is cleaning the garage.
We have a two-car garage. When I had my car, you can bet it made its home in said garage. No way in hell... frozen or otherwise... was I going to spend any time or effort scraping icy windows or removing snow from my car in the dead of winter every time I needed to go out.
Lew's vehicle, on the other hand, has always been, by choice, parked in the driveway. Why, you might ask?? Because "his" side of the garage is overflowing with gar-baaaahge! Not literally, of course, but figuratively speaking. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if a moldy, hairy piece of something was lurking somewhere over there under the piles of man stuff.
There's lumber, there's empty boxes, there's insulation, there's saw horses. There's power tools, there's ladders, there's packing foam, and every kind of paint equipment known to man, including old paint. There's even one of the seats from the van sitting out there... don't ask! In all fairness, there's also household leftovers out there - stuff from the basement purge, an old computer, odd pieces of furniture, and outgrown grandkid toys (figure we'll save them for the great grands!! lol) Along with the normal garage stuff - fertilizer, flower pots, gardening tools, etc. - the place is a catastrophe waiting to happen.
So anyway, he's out there in the heat, tackling this long-overdue task. Since most of what has to be discarded - or at least reorganized - belongs to said man, I'm not feeling terribly guilty about being inside. I went out for a little bit to give the okay on some stuff that could be disposed of and lasted about 10 minutes in the choking heat before escaping back into the cool comfort of air-conditioning.
I'll check on him periodically, with ice water in hand, to make sure he's okay... I'll really be upset if he keels over before he's finished!!
(I'm kidding, I'm kidding... it's a joke, people... a joke!!!) ;-)
