Burglary in the 4th...
Well, that was my excitement for the day!!
So I'm in the laundry room, minding my own business, folding some sheets. I come out of the laundry room, into the family room, and I see a "body" standing at the patio door. At first I thought it was Lew but then wondered "why is he home and why is he coming in the back door?" So, I go over to the door and open it and there's this kid, teen-type, trying to get in my door!! Hello!!
Well, apparently I scared him more than he scared me so I says "what are you doing!?" and this little shit mumbles something as he nonchalently proceeds to walk away, across the deck, and up between the yards to the street!! The balls of this guy!
So I'm following him... as much as my O2 cord will allow... saying the whole time "what are you doing!??" and this little turd keeps on trucking. Not running, just strolling along. So now I'm pissed, you know? I mean, it's broad-freakin' daylight and I got some sleazeball trying to get into my house!! So I make my way upstairs, again as fast as my oxygen-supplemented body will allow, go out the front door and look down the street. Nada, nothing. There is a neighbor walking her dog so I asked her if she saw the guy. She didn't.
So I come in and call the sherriff's office and tell them what's happening. Bingo! Right quick, I had a deputy at my kitchen table, taking down all the information and driving around the area to see if he saw anyone fitting my description. He didn't.
So the good deputy checks the door, calls it a 4th degree burglary - the guy was trying - gives me a case number, etc., thanks me for calling, and goes on his way.
The little SOB better hope I don't see him again in the neighborhood - I'll have his ass hauled in quicker than he can turn around and walk away! Grrrrrr!

Some people can be pretty nervy! I'm glad you saw him before he tried to get into your house. I hope he doesn't try to come back. I have no doubt you will have him hauled away :)
take care,
Dawn
=O wow...just wow.
Geez, Marianne! That's freaking scary! I'm so glad you're okay! I hope the punk learned a lesson...yeah, I know that's pretty unlikely, huh?
