Good things DO happen...

Letting out a mini yesss! cuz our AC situation wasn't even on the chart compared to my friend Dawn, who had nothing, nada, zip ... in Florida! Aaaagggh! Glad you got your power back, girl. This is definitely turning out to be a Long, Hot Summer for much of the country and I count myself one of the fortunate ones.

Our AC saga, however, is now over (hopefully) and I'm typing in chilled comfort, with my faith in contractors somewhat restored ... at least with this contractor. They showed up bright and early yesterday (just like they said they would), got the old system uninstalled and removed, the new system installed and operating, cleaned up after themselves admirably, and left us with more information about the new thermostat - excuse me, control - than anyone outside the industry would ever need to know! The thing does everything but fix dinner and wash the dishes! In addition, the salesman stopped by for a chat, apologizing all over himself for the screw-up on Tuesday, and again guaranteeing our complete satisfaction. All of this on the hottest day of the year that we've had - it was 101 outside where they were working.

So, all in all, I'm a happy camper and take back some... not all, mind you, just some... of what I said before about contractors. This company ultimately, and with minimal inconvenience, made good on their promise and they made good impressively. I'll keep them in our address book and even write a nice letter to the boss.

Now we get to test our remaining sanity on the next project ... two rooms we're building in the rest of the basement. We've been playing phone tag with our second-choice contractor for weeks... the first one copped out after initially agreeing to do the job. *sigh*... and so it goes.

1st - yeah, on the A/C; if I lived in your neck of the woods, I would ask for their name.
2nd - good luck with the rooms in the basement
3rd - loved your Over 45 layout
